Now You Have The Power To Control Your Future

Due to the increasing cost of plant operations and the intense competition of today's power industry, customers are in need of knowledgeable and well-trained personnel to maximize the efficiency of their equipment and minimize the costly mistakes that can jeopardize their plant. One of the biggest obstacles in achieving these goals is the lack of properly-trained personnel. Training is not simply one class, one subject matter, but rather a continuous learning path for plant personnel to gain the necessary knowledge needed in order to achieve success as an efficient, well-run, well-maintained and profitable plant. Find out more about Customer Training Learning Paths now and take control of your future.

Why Establish Learning Paths?

POORLY-TRAINED EMPLOYEES CAN COST YOU MILLIONS

During a "Trip Prevention Study" by GE, data was gathered from Black Boxes installed at 150 GE facilities. A weekly report was generated from this information and sent to team members for review and analyzing. Over the course of one year, thousands of trips were recorded and analyzed. Data shows that the trips resulted in high stress from rapid cool down cycles, damaging gas turbine components by:

  • Thermal Mechanical Fatigue (LCF) & Cracking
  • High-Cycle Fatigue & Failures
  • Rubs/Wear
  • Loss of Protective Coatings
  • Collateral Object Damage
  • Premature Part Failures
  • Unexpected Additional Repair Costs
In addition to this data, there was not one, but several contributing factors to these trips resulting in a negative impact on these companies. For instance, when looking at the data for the top 4 operation trips, it was determined that 59% of the top operation trips were due to improper operation procedure. This alone has a huge impact on a plants bottom line, as trips increase cost throughout the life cycle of a turbine. As a conservative figure, this can cost a plant upwards of $62,000 per trip.

REDUCE THE NEGATIVE IMPACT TO YOUR PLANT

How do you cut down on areas of improper operation and maintenance procedures and increase your bottom line? By providing each of your employees with a solid training foundation that includes a complete path of operations and maintenance related training.

We have developed a complete program of Learning Paths for operators, control room operators, maintenance personnel, and I & C technicians. The Learning Paths provided are meant as a guide and can be customized to meet each customer's needs by:

  • Setting up a plan of action to train existing personnel where a lack of knowledge exists
  • Establishing a training path for those who wish to move to a different plant position
  • Establishing a training path for all future personnel

What is the lack of properly, well-trained employees costing your plant?

About Learning Paths

Our Learning Paths are specially designed for Operators, Maintenance Technicians, and I & C Technicians, catering to a wide range of experience. A variety of training methods are utilized including Web-Based, CD Rom, Instructor-Led, On-the-Job training with plant owner supervision, and Site-Specific. These Learning Paths can be customized to an individual's needs or those of a group. Being able to customize a learning path so it meets the participant's needs, resulting in a strong core knowledge and the hands-on experience that will give each participant the confidence and ability to ultimately perform their job at the highest level possible.

Learning Path Assessment

Although we have supplied a Learning Path, each individual must first assess what type of training they have received. This training may have been received on-the-job or through a training program. Using the course information supplied in the Learning Paths is critical to identifying if and where gaps in that knowledge exist. As almost all training experience and knowledge build the foundation for further training, when one or more pieces of that knowledge are missing it will be much harder, if not impossible, to learn certain aspects within the next level of a Learning Path.

When you register to be a user of our training website, you will gain access on how to self-assess and create a learning path that's right for you. You will also have access to a link for assistance in creating a learning path if you are having difficulties.

IMPORTANT: Do not take any gaps you may have in knowledge lightly. It has been our experience when individuals are lacking the knowledge required to successfully participate in a class, they not only become lost and fall behind, but find it impossible to participate and complete the class successfully.
