Course Description

This course offers an understanding of the basic maintenance requirements of all types of GE Steam Turbine and their auxiliary support systems and is designed for those individuals with limited or basic knowledge of GE STs.

This course is intended for personnel with limited knowledge of GE ST maintenance.  Also, for Operators, Engineers, Technicians, and operating facilities support personnel

Learning Objectives

This course will provide basic knowledge on the following:

  • The objective of this course is to give participants an understanding of basic ST component construction and maintenance procedures as well as a fundamental knowledge of the auxiliary systems function and preventative maintenance requirements.

  • Emphasis is placed on the following areas:

  1. Review of ST major components, equipment arrangements and associated maintenance requirements of each section of the turbine
  2. Turbine operations and the effect on maintenance intervals
  3. Purpose, function and routine preventative maintenance of the various turbine support systems
  4. A review of standard practices, tooling and parts needed to successfully conduct inspections
  5. How to source information in the GE ST Service Manuals
